BAZZA Superleggera - The World's lightest luggage

With a weight of just over 1 kg, BAZZA Superleggera is the world’s lightest luggage, weighing only 1/3 of most competing products. It is also the first luggage that is 100% recyclable and its CO2-footprint is around 90% lower than conventional luggage. Radical lightness combined with superior strength was achieved through an innovative material, integrated design, and new production methods. The material is fully Bio-based, made from natural seeds instead of petrolium. It is 4 times as impact resistant, yet 30% lighter than conventional plastics. The luggage is essentially made from one single, highly variable material and is designed to be quickly disassembled and recycled. The patented construction has all auxiliary elements already included, thus minimizing weak connections, assembly time, and weight. Closure is via a snap mechanism, which avoids non-recyclable and often faulty zippers. The luggage is produced in Italy, but its low sales price of 149€ is made possible by a highly automated production facility, no waste during production, and a direct-to-consumer model. The design is pure yet emotional, with strong colors and a soft, continuously curved shape.

At roughly 1 kg, Superleggera is astoundingly light, a mere third of the typical luggage weight. Given the kg limit imposed by 66 percent of global airlines, this means you can take advantage of packing a substantial 50 percent more (6kg instead of the conventional 4kg) in your carry-on. The patented construction has all auxiliary elements already included, thus minimizing weak connections, assembly time and weight. Closure is via a snap mechanism, which avoids non-recyclable and often faulty zippers.

Superleggera is made from a revolutionary material named BLISS. Co-created with Arkema, a global leader in high-performance polymers and advanced materials, BLISS is a Bio-based, Lightweight, Superstrong, and Simply Sensational material.

It's eco-friendly, reducing CO2 emissions by 90% compared to normal luggage, and entirely recyclable. The innovative material is born from natural beans, nurtured in arid regions unsuitable for traditional agriculture, avoiding competition with food sources. Compared to traditional higher quality luggage plastics like PC, BLISS is around 20% lighter, yet 4 times as impact-resistant. It does not break or whiten when bent and is extremely tough.

We would make the luggage even lighter... and perhaps reduce part count even more, thus reducing manufacturing costs. These things may already be ready during the next 5 years!
